My name is Justin and I am a first-year medical student at the University of Toronto. I finished a 3-year Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Manitoba prior to entering med school. I was a member of Project Pulse Winnipeg's organizing committee in 2016 and an assistant coordinator with Let's Talk Science at the University of Manitoba from 2018-2019. I am currently the VP External Affairs Jr. of the Medical Society at U of T and have a keen interest in translational research. In my spare time, I love playing basketball, soccer and ultimate frisbee as well as the piano.

Madison Wong

My name is Madison Wong and I am a first year PharmD student at the University of Manitoba. I recently completed my Bachelor of Science through the University of Manitoba, majoring in genetics with a minor in chemistry. I have been interested in science since high school, but I did not have my mind made up on my career path until much later into university. I knew I wanted to be able to help people and, combined with my interest in science, that is what sparked my interest in the health care field. As a pharmacist, I hope to make positive impacts on individuals’ health and lives while increasing the public’s overall science literacy.

Throughout my time in university and high school, I volunteered with different organizations such as St. Boniface Hospital, UMSU, Science Rendezvous, CanU, and Let’s Talk Science. I am currently on the coordinating team for Girls in Science for the second time. This is an event put on by Let’s Talk Science, promoting careers in STEM to girls in middle school.

In my spare time I enjoy baking, watching skincare YouTube, and anime. I look forward to sharing my experiences and answering all your questions!

Besides my academic career, I also played important roles within the campus, such as being a Let's Talk Science Site Coordinator and a St Paul's College Campus Ministry Assistant from the year 2017-2019, and a Canadian Catholic Student Association President in the year 2018-2019. I engage in producing multiple volunteer and outreach opportunities for every age group to participate in, while I participated in volunteering activities with the Canadian Blood Services, CanU, and St. John's Ambulance.
