Professional Relations Directors Rhea Gupta and Miguel San Pedro greatly enjoyed interviewing sisters Dr. Nisha Ajmani, a bioinformatician, and Dr. Manisha Ajmani, Project Manager for the Digital Agriculture Project. Both of these dedicated and committed individuals discussed past and ongoing projects at their universities and differences in their professions that have arisen due to the pandemic. They talked about the need to be curious and to never stop pursuing your interests when exploring professions in STEM. Most importantly, they recently organized a Virtual Soapbox Science Event that featured women in STEM, and they dove into the ways in which women and young girls can be encouraged to increase female representation in the field. The depth with which they explained bioinformatics and agricultural engineering provided a tremendous opportunity to learn more about their professions and the greater field of STEM!
